# Cline

> Connect Cline to Phaseo through its OpenAI-compatible provider.

Choose the Phaseo CLI runner for an isolated session, or create a dedicated key with the CLI and configure an existing Cline installation manually. Cline stores credentials in VS Code's secure secret storage, so the final entry happens in the extension UI.

## Run Cline through the Phaseo CLI

For the Cline CLI, let Phaseo provision the provider configuration for one session:

```

Use `--catalog all` to expose every active Phaseo text/chat model, or `--dry-run --json` to preview the install and launch plan. Use `phaseo run cline ...` for the explicit command form. The runner uses temporary Cline settings and data directories, so it does not overwrite an existing Cline or VS Code setup.

## Create the credential with the Phaseo CLI

```

## Configure Cline manually

1. Open the Cline panel in VS Code.
2. Select the settings icon, or select the provider beneath the chat box.
3. Choose **OpenAI Compatible**.
4. Enter these values:

| Base URL | `https://api.phaseo.app/v1` |
| API Key | Output of `phaseo integrations credential cline` |
| Model ID | `anthropic/claude-sonnet-4.6` or the model printed by setup |

5. Save the provider. If your version shows **Verify**, select it.
6. Select the configured model for the next task.

## Verify

Ask Cline to reply with `PHASEO_CLINE_OK`, then confirm the request appears in Phaseo activity.

## Remove

Delete or switch away from the Phaseo provider in Cline, then run:

phaseo integrations remove cline
```

The CLI cannot clear VS Code's private extension storage, but removal revokes the stored key.

## Troubleshooting

### Verification fails

Keep the Base URL exactly as shown, including `/v1`, and paste a newly retrieved key without quotes or whitespace.

### The model list is empty

Enter the Phaseo model ID manually. Model discovery is not required.

### Chat works but tools fail

Choose a Phaseo model with tool-calling support. Connectivity and model tool support are separate checks.
